Bracha
Baruch atah, Adonai Eloheinu, Melech haolam, asher kid’shanu b’mitzvotav v’tzivanu al s’firat haomer.
Blessed are You, LORD God, ruler of the Universe, who hallows us with the mitzvot, commanding us to count the Omer.
Today is the thirty-eighth day — five weeks and three days of the Omer.
Today’s Reflection
Sometimes Rabbi Kedar’s reflections are esoteric, and requiring some discernment to get to the nugget of inspiration. And then there are reflections that are simple, direct and powerful. Her clear and concise instructions are the following:
Pursue the life that you wish to live. Be impatient with mediocrity. Do not abide sustained boredom. Care. Tell the children that they are created in the image of God. Tell them often. Be still enough to listen to your heart. Rad. Practice obedience consciously. Stand for something. Create. Make the following declaration: I will search for God. I will not betray my life’s calling (Kedar, pg. 128).
Read that again and again and again..
And so it is. Amen selah.
